Jackalope Theatre Company expands the definition of American Identity by engaging with our communities to produce works that celebrate diverse perspectives.
THE HISTORY
Jackalope Theatre Company is Edgewater's premiere home for new and exciting Off-Loop Theatre.
Each season, the company produces three full-length plays in the Broadway Armory Park as well as a series of new work development programming at their storefront space, The Frontier. Jackalope is an industry leader in producing and developing new works and has been the recipient of numerous awards and accolades.
Started out of Columbia College Chicago in 2008, the company was founded by Andrew Burden Swanson, Kaiser Ahmed, AJ Ware, and Gus Menary. Artistic Direction was first helmed by Kaiser Ahmed for seasons 1 through 3, with AJ Ware leading as Artistic Director from seasons 4 though 7. For seasons 8 through 12, Jackalope was led by Gus Menary.
Kaiser Ahmed returns as current Artistic Director for Season 13.
